FORD MERCURY ZEPHYR (Hub Disc) Front Ventilated Brake Disc 1978-83

Brake Discs – OEM-Spec Stopping Power

Precision-machined brake discs restore smooth, confident braking. Built to OEM specification for fit, balance and thermal stability—ideal for South African roads and driving conditions.

Why choose these discs

• OEM-aligned metallurgy and hardness for durability
• Balanced rotors reduce vibration and steering shake
• Heat-treated to resist warping under repeated stops
• Coated to limit corrosion and ease future removal

Signs your discs need replacement

• Pulsing or vibration through the pedal or steering under braking
• Grinding noises even after fitting new pads
• Visible grooves, scoring or blue heat spots on the rotor face
• Longer stopping distances or brake fade on descents

What’s included

• Brake disc(s) matched to the application (check quantity per axle)
• Protective coating/packaging where applicable

Confirm by OE/part number, diameter, thickness, vented/solid and bolt pattern. If unsure, contact us with your VIN and we’ll confirm fitment.

Fitment best practice

• Always fit new pads with new discs to prevent glazing and uneven wear
• Clean hub face thoroughly; measure runout; torque wheel bolts to spec
• Bed-in new discs and pads with progressive stops (no hard braking initially)
• Do not machine discs unless the manufacturer explicitly allows it
