Nissan NV350 2.5 108KW 4 Cyl 2488 Eng 2013- Front Brake Pads
Brake Pads – What This Set Does
These disc brake pads are engineered for smooth, controlled stopping.
They press against your brake discs to generate the friction that slows the car,
working in sync with your calipers for confident braking in daily and emergency situations.
Why Replace Your Pads Now
Pads wear down with every stop. Once thin, stopping distance increases and discs can be damaged.
Fitting this new set restores sharp pedal feel, consistent deceleration, and protects your discs from costly wear.
Common Signs You Need This Set
- Squeaking/screeching when braking (wear indicators contacting the disc)
- Warning light or pad wear message on the dashboard
- Vibration or shudder felt through the brake pedal or steering wheel
- Longer stopping distances / reduced braking confidence
- Metallic grinding noise (pad worn to backing plate, damaging the disc)
Maintenance & Fitment Tips
- Replace in axle pairs: always fit left & right pads together for balanced braking.
- Inspect the discs: replace or machine if below minimum thickness, scored, or warped.
- Service the hardware: clean/lube slider pins and fit new clips/shims where supplied.
- Bed-in correctly: gentle, progressive braking for the first 100–200 km to stabilise friction.
- Use quality fluid: bleed/flush brake fluid as per service schedule for optimal pedal feel.
FAQs About These Brake Pads
How long will they last?
Typically 30,000–60,000 km, depending on driving style, load, and route (city stop-start vs highway).
Do I need new discs as well?
If discs are below spec, scored, or warped—yes. New pads on bad discs reduce performance and wear pads faster.
Do these require special bedding-in?
Yes. Perform several moderate stops from ~60 km/h to 20 km/h, allowing the brakes to cool between stops. Avoid hard emergency stops during the first 100–200 km unless necessary.
What is brake pad fade?
Brake fade occurs when excessive heat reduces friction efficiency. This can happen under repeated hard braking — higher-quality pads resist fade better, ensuring safe, consistent stopping power.
