Nissan Navara YD25 Double Chain Single Chain Timing Kit

Nissan Navara Pathfinder 2.5 dCi 16V YD25DDTi 05-17 Double Chain Single Chain Timing Kit - No Gears

Timing Chain Kit – What This Set Does

This timing chain kit synchronises the crankshaft and camshaft(s) so your valves and pistons move in perfect time. A fresh kit restores factory timing accuracy for smoother starts, consistent power, and maximum engine longevity.

Why Replace Your Timing Chain Kit

Chains, guides and tensioners wear with mileage, oil quality, heat and driving style. Once a chain stretches or a guide/tensioner fails, timing can jump, causing rough running, loss of power, or severe engine damage. Replacing the complete kit prevents catastrophic failures and protects your investment.

Common Symptoms of a Worn Timing Set

• Cold-start rattle or metallic chatter from the timing cover
• Rough idle, hesitation, poor fuel economy, or power loss
• Engine warning light with cam/crank correlation codes (e.g. P0016–P0019)
• Hard starting or misfires, especially when hot
• Visible chain slack or damaged guides (on inspection)

Maintenance & Fitment Tips

• Fit the full kit: replace chain(s), guides, tensioner(s) and associated seals — not just the chain.
• Follow timing marks precisely: always align to manufacturer specs and lock tools where required.
• Prime tensioners & check oil system: low oil pressure accelerates timing wear.
• Use quality oil: correct grade & intervals are critical to chain and tensioner life.
• Inspect related components: VVT gears, oil control valves, crank/cam seals while you’re in there.

FAQs About This Timing Chain Kit

Do I need special tools?
Many engines require timing/locking tools to hold camshaft/crankshaft in precise position — using them avoids costly mistakes.

Can I replace just the chain?
Not recommended. Mixed old/new parts lead to rapid wear and repeat labour. The complete kit ensures balanced, long-term reliability.

How long does a timing chain kit last?
With correct oil and maintenance, typically well beyond 150,000 km, but some engines are sensitive — watch for early symptoms.
