The flywheel is the link between your engine and gearbox. It stores rotational energy, smooths out torque pulses and helps the clutch engage cleanly. When a flywheel or dual mass flywheel (DMF) wears out, you’ll feel shudder, vibration, noise on start-up and shut-down, and harsh gear changes.
Our flywheels are built to OEM specification and selected for correct fitment, balance and durability. Designed for South African driving conditions, from city traffic and steep hills to long-distance towing – these parts help protect your clutch, gearbox and drivetrain from costly damage.
Learn more about why dual mass flywheels fail early in South Africa in our in-depth technical article:
Dual Mass Flywheels Fail Under Pressure – How Stop-Start Traffic, Heat and Hills Kill Them
Protect your drivetrain – replace a worn or noisy flywheel with a quality, OEM-spec unit that restores smooth engagement, reduces vibration and extends clutch life.
• Always use new flywheel bolts and tighten them to the correct torque and angle specification.
• Never machine or skim a dual mass flywheel – if worn, it must be replaced as a complete unit.
• Clean the crankshaft and flywheel mating surfaces thoroughly before installation to prevent wobble.
• Check and replace a leaking rear main oil seal while the gearbox is out to avoid contaminating the new clutch.
• Inspect the clutch kit and concentric slave cylinder at the same time – doing the full job once saves labour and prevents repeat removal.
